STEVIE B RETURNS TO RADIO & RETAIL WITH NEW SINGLE SUMMER NIGHTS

Los Angeles, CA – International Pop/Dance music legend Stevie B is enjoying a resurgence in popularity as the lead single "Summer Nights" begins to hit Top 40 and CHR radio nationwide. Summer Nights, the first issue by fledgling indie label, DANCE 2000 Records, is the first track serviced to radio from the upcoming, untitled full length record from Stevie, due out October 14th. Supported by positive reviews from Billboard (8/2/97) and several station DJ's, "SUMMER NIGHTS" is well positioned to gain significant radio play and retail sales due to the strong fan base Stevie B maintained throughout his two-year recording hiatus. His audience has continued to flourish through consistent international touring and steady programming at AC radio of several prior Top 40 hits, including 1990's chart breaking single Because I Love You. Younger fans are being cultivated through the Internet, as the resurgence of dance music in the U.S. has resulted in widespread Web presence. Many fanpages and websites dedicated to current hot dance acts and the "old school" dance classics consistently refer to Stevie and his groundbreaking recordings Party Your Body and In My Eyes as the foundation for today's crossover dance format. These sites and bulletin boards are frequented and hosted by both 12-18s newly introduced to the "Freestyle" dance sound popular in the early 90's, as well as the core 18-34's, still familiar with the Stevie B sound that dominated the charts for over 180 weeks from 1987 through 1992.

Promotional CDs and 12" vinyl were serviced to 200 mix shows and dance-music oriented programmers on July 29th, and retail shipments of CDs and custom 12" vinyl will be delivered on August 22 to regional and national one-stops, in preparation for the August 29th street date. The CD includes the radio version and seven additional remixes, intertwining contemporary house and dub dance tracks with signature Stevie B vocals co-produced by David Allen Jones and remix vet Brian Wayy, (whose recent successes include mixes for Paula Abdul, Rod Stewart, and RuPaul). Remix teams ACID FACTOR, Ivan Kopas & Robert Bartko; PowerMix's Boris Granich, and Galaxy Freestyle's Randy Taylor-Weber, Slammin' Sam Maxion and Gordon Early produced additional remix tracks which will incorporate well into live club DJ repertoires and weekend mix shows.

The entire album, including the single, was recorded and is being mixed at Dance 2000 Records' new complex, Platinum Paradise, in North Hollywood. Formerly Warner Bros.' Amigo Studios, the 7-suite facility has produced over 250 gold and platinum recordings and is now occupied by Dance 2000's corporate offices and production staff. Dance 2000 Records, launched in April, plans several releases for Fall/Winter 1997; including new recordings the "Best Of" Stevie's hits, and a multi-artist Dance music compilation CD.
