First of all, one of the reasons that made me want to write this page: Damon
Hill is one of the fastest drivers in Formula One, but, really I can't understand
why he's not much respected (at least here in Italy). Don't listen to this:
I can assure you that Damon is a very good person and a great driver, and
if you don't believe me, go and see all the races that Hill has dominated
from start to finish.

DAMON GUITARIST FOR DEF LEPPARD
We all know about Damon Hill's love for music, and in particular for the
guitar. Because of this great passion of his, and thanks to his friendship
with the singer of the Def Leppard rock band (also famous for the soundtrack
of the "Nightmare 3" movie), he was invited to take part in the
last album of the band, on which he plays in a few pieces. So, take a look
at the very next issue of the CD, it's a must have!
PAST NEWS
11th July 1999 - Grand Prix of Silverstone, Great Britain
PRACTICE
The tension was all on Damon, anyway he did a good practice: Friday
he got seventh place, and Saturday he improved qualifying his Jordan in
sixth place. Good also the warm up, where he took fourth place.
RACE
The first Start was good, but it was cancelled by the red flag due to
two drivers that couldn't take the start. Meanwhile, Michael Schumacher
went out at Copse Curve and with a big crash he broke his right leg. (Michael,
best wishes!)
At the second start, Damon was overtaken by Ralf Schumacher, finding himself
sixth. Here he stayed for the rest of the race fighting with Barrichello
until the 24th lap, when Hill made his first pit stop. After that he went
back onto the track and, thanks to the other drivers' pit stops, on the
45th lap he was leading the race. Ok, it was only for a lap, but it was
a good moment ;-). Second pit stop and back on the track, Hill overtook
Barrichello and he was in fifth place where he stayed till the end of the
race.
