Hearts At Home
With so much of our world buying the idea that families must have bigger incomes and dual incomes, busier schedules, more of everything, Hearts at Home is a place where you can find ways to cut costs, slow down, and enjoy the abundance that Christ offers--even without the material abundance that the world offers.

We can get so focused on our positions as mothers (which is indeed a very good thing), that we forget we are still women. God created us with this unique design, and He certainly didn't intend for us to bury our ladyhood beneath our many responsibilities. Rather, by making a point to keep our ladyhood alive, we will find that it positively impacts all that we do. P.S. I focus on the word "lady" because I have always felt it had the connotation of being someone fine and of especially high regard. Here is one definition from Webster for the word lady: "a woman of refinement and gentle manners." ![]() Introduction: Every day is a marvelous gift from the Lord, so make some "normal" days special, too. The first of the month is a good one to celebrate--it marks the beginning of a new day and a new month, and most months have "themes" that go with them: January is a new year and sledding season; February includes Valentine's Day and love; March is about welcoming the first flowers of spring as well as St. Paddy's Day; April can mean fun riddles for Fool's Day, and of course Easter; May means May Day--an opportunity to practice "giving" anonymously--and also kite-flying weather; June means Summer arrives and gardentime; July is Independence Day and all things patriotic, as well as camping season; August is more camping and swimming and summer fun; September is schooltime and apples for the teacher (as well as apples for canning, apples for pies, apples for cider, and so on and so on Ü); October (my personal favorite) is for celebrating autumn and harvest time; November is more about autumn and harvest and also giving thanks and remembering our Christian heritage; December is about Jesus being "God with us" and about scrumptious candies and baking and giving our best for others' enjoyment. Look how much we have to celebrate throughout the year! So plan a special celebration for the first of each month. Have a special themed dinner, have themed decorations for each month and have the children help put them up the afternoon of the first [try to plan their schoolwork to be over a little early on these days], and choose a special story or other reading to read aloud after the meal. ![]() This oft underrated art form brings such pleasure to everyone.
