I sat and watched football today
Remembering how I used to hate
Watching the game on t.v.
How that changed
When I would curl up next to you
And watch whatever game was on.
Now I sit with my friends
Cheering my team on to victory,
Trying hard not to miss having you there
Jeering at the game just to tease me.

I listened to Tonic today
Thinking back to the day
When you picked up your guitar
And played "Mean to Me"
Because I wouldn't stop tickling you.
How you sang and you smiled at me.
We both laughed together
Now I can't hear that song
And not think of you.

I looked at a picture of us today
Standing at my grandparents party.
Our arms were wrapped around each other
As we smiled at the camera.
I think back to that day,
How I had to rush to the airport
To pick you up so you could meet
My entire family.
How much fun we had
At what should have been a lousy party.

I think of you now
Wondering where we went wrong.
Everything seemed perfect
Like it would last forever.
I miss you everyday
There is always something
That reminds me of you.
I want one more day, one more time
Just to see you, to touch you
Just one more memory to hold close.
