Dear Dr. Holmes:

I live in the middle east. I am British and married to a filipina, who will be joining me here shortly. We have been searching for marital aids in the philippines or should I say my wife has, but we cannot seem to locate what we are looking for. As the middle east is very strict on these matters I can be of no assistence to my wife in our quest to locate a vibrator in the PI.

Could you help us, by giving a location of a shop that sells such items.

Thank you

GH

Dear GH:

Thank you very much for your letter. Unfortunately I know of no place in Manila where you can buy vibrators. The best bet is to ask a friend of yours who may be going to either the US or western Europe to get you one, since stores that sell them there abound. Should you get a friend to buy one for you, it would perhaps be better if they hand delivered it to you, rather than mailed it. (This is presuming the middle east is not as punitive about sex aids as Malaysia etc. is about drugs). Should it be--or should there be any doubt that they *might* be, then I strongly suggest you do without obvious sex aids for a while.

An alternative would be to use something else that doesn't look like a sex aid but may serve the same function; e.g. a hand massager. Most vibrate in the same way vibrators do--and if they don't, they may vibrate in an even better way!--and one could always claim medicinal/therapeutic reasons for having them in one's luggage.

I say this with extreme confidence since most woemn use vibrators to put againbst their clitorises, rather than to insert into their vaginas. Should your wife want a vibrator for vaginal insertion then a vibrator that is shaped like one (rather than a hand massager which is oftentimes as wide as it is long) would perhaps be of utmost importance too.

All the best!

MG Holmes
