Dear Dr. Holmes:

My boyfriend is 5'6" tall and I'm only 4'11". That's not what I'm worried about. You see, he has a huge penis (which is why he refuses to wear tight jeans or pants). I don't know know what normal is--from how small to how large? But by the looks of it (and according to my boyfriend himself), it's 1.5 inches in diameter and 5-6 inches in length. I am afraid this will lead to painful sex. Does the size of a woman determine the capacity of her vagina to accept a penis of this size?

Emily

Dear Emily:

No, the size of a woman does not determine the capacity of her vagina to accept a penis of this size. You could be 4’11 and have a vagina that will take to his penis like a duck to water. You could, however, be 5’6 and have a vagina that is rather tight and will need more time and patience to finally get a penis his size all the way in. Not to worry. No matter what size your vagina is, unless you have vaginismus (and there’s nothing in your letter to suggest you do) it will be able to accommodate his penis.

You do not have to do everything all at once. Take things slowly. There is always tomorrow or next week, or (even) a few hours later. Remember that time, patience, privacy, relaxation, lubrication, and the fact that it is he you are making love to and not his appendage alone is what really counts.

All the best!

MG Holmes
