This page is dedicated to the online RPG Moongate. Moongate has no graphical interface, but people play it anyway. Infact, half the people at my school do. The only problem with Moongate is that it's addictive. Ask anyone who plays it. My friend Kawa sacrificed his school work to play it, and now he's banned from it! His parents won't let him anywhere near the game.
Tama goes on and plays it for like six hours straight every day.

It's really a sad thing. Really. I mean, I play it, but only once or twice a week, for maybe two hours. That's why this page was made.

This page gives you information so that you know when you're addicted, and how to help yourself.
The top ten ways of knowing you're addicted to Moongate:

10. You talk excesively about it; i.e., if people walk by your table at lunch, all they hear is you going "but I found the crystal ball in the mansion in Rune and it was cursed so I had to cast--"

9. You talk about Moongate characters as if they were real people, for example: "No! I was auctioning it and that cheap bastard ripped me off!"

8. You spend your free time making up alt characters, so that when you play again, you can have a party of only your characters.

7. You have your homepage set to the java telnet applet.

6. You make a mad dash for pop-up items everytime the system reboots.

5. When you type to your friends through ICQ or AIM, you put a quote mark in front of everything that you say.

4. You spend your class time drawing maps of every place you've ever been to in Moongate.

3. These maps are all taped over your computer.

2. You call your friends who also play the game by their character's name.

And the number 1 way to know if you're addicted to Moongate:

1. When you do an action, instead of actually doing it, you say the word; example: Jason was listening to his friend and he wanted to agree with what they were saying. Instead of nodding, he said 'nod'.

Addicted? Don't deny it, you know you are. The first step in the recovery process is to stand up and say "My name is *, and I'm addicted to Moongate." Now scroll down to see the top ten ways to get help.
*please don't type your Moongate character's name
The top ten things to do about being addicted to Moongate:

10. Purposely get in trouble, so that your parents put a block on your computer and tell your teachers not to let you play.

9. Find something else to do on the internet, for god sakes.

8. Go on a Moongate diet: only play for a little while each day, and slowly decrease until you only play it on the weekends.

7. Set a trigger so that everytime you quit, it deletes your character.

6. Tell one of your other obsessed friends to hit you everytime they see you on.

5. Do your friggin' homework.

4. Lock yourself in your room everytime you feel like playing Moongate.

3. Make a tape that repeatedly says "I will not play Moongate", and then listen to it every night when you go to sleep.

2. See a hypnotist, and tell them to convince you that you're deathly afraid of the black screen.

And the number 1 thing to do if you're addicted to Moongate:

1. STOP PLAYING.

Well, I hope this has shed some light on your situation, and helped you with that damned craving to play Moongate. Maybe it will boost your grades, maybe it'll help you free up some time to go on that date you've been postponing because you like to play it for 10 hours every friday and saturday night, and it might even help you get a life, which we know you so desire. And remember, if you can't get help at MA, please,
