REVIEW

Chandrachur SinghSilsila Hai Pyar Ka is another love story where a spoilt rich guy is changed by a girl who belongs from a modest background. Abhay (Chandrachur Singh) is son of a rich businessman Mr. Sinha ( Alok Nath). Mr. Sinha believes that if his son gets married to a girl who is brought up with the right cultural values, his son would change. The girl will make his son aware of his responsibilities and make him do away with his carefree & playboy like attitude.

Abhay is very much influenced with his uncle Rakesh (Shakti Kapoor) who leads a bohemian lifestyle. The girl who can change Abhay Sinha is Vanshika Mathur. Vanshika is desperately seeking for a job. She becomes secretary of Abhay who just can't stand her simplicity. Abhay keeps on making derogatory remarks on Vanshika by taunting and insulting on her outlook. In spite of this Vanshika falls in love with her Boss. Vanshika had a soft corner for Abhay since college days where Abhay never noticed her.

Karishma Kapoor Obviously it was not going to be easy. Vanshika changes her outlook from a conservative one to modern. The new Vanshika does impress our Hero. All this happens in Switzerland where both have gone on a business trip. In the beautiful place like Alps there has to be few songs so we have the couple doing a tango.

All of a sudden the villain comes into the picture out of nowhere. Jabbar (Danny Denzongpa) makes Abhay a business offer, which takes Vanshika & Abhay to a mysterious island. The island is somewhere outside India and is populated with people speaking Hindi. Here Abhay comes to know that Jabbar wants to marry Vanshika and display her in a 'stuffed' condition in his private museum in which he displays all his girlfriends. The rest is now the rescue act where Abhay saves Vanshika from Jabbar.

Silsila Hai Pyar Ka The film is painstakingly slow in the second half. Chandrachur Singh does not look convincing in the role of a spoilt rich brat. Karishma Kapoor's in her first release of 1999 has done well but than script has let her down. Speaking of script, it seems a mixture of Hollywood flicks like Cinderella & Romancing the Stone. Direction wise Shraboni Deodhar who had made a good offbeat film like Sarkarnama. One can say her efforts for this commercial film could have been better.
