SHIKARI Cast: Govinda, Karishma Kapoor, Tabu & Aroona Irani Director: N. Chandra Music: Aadesh Srivastava Rating: * |
A film by N.Chandra that was many years in the making. It is a suspense-cum-revenge drama. Om Srivastav (Govinda) escapes from jail and flees to South Africa. There he murders an industrialist Rawal (Nirmal Pandey). However he says that he is the best friend of Rawal is front of Rawal's wife Suman (Tabu) and his sister Rajeshwari (Karisma Kapoor). Om agrees to help Rajeshwari who has sworn to take revenge of her brother's death. He also romances with her. She also falls in love with Om. In due course, Om also does two more murders. The fact is disclosed towards ends. A total torture for the audience. The film could have been better if the screenplay was given more importance. Performance-wise only Govinda has given a commendable performance. This is not the usual Govinda stuff, but he has done good job. Tabu and Karisma Kapoor have been wasted, and so also he other star cast. Music is poor. An avoidable film.
