SANGHARSH

Cast: Akshay Kumar, Preity Zinta, Ashutosh Rana
Director: Tanuja Chandra
Music: Jatin-Lalit
Rating: * *

Mahesh Bhatt's Sangharsh is inspired from the Hollywood film The Silence of The Lambs. However, the film directed by Tanuja Chandra (her previous film was Dushman) does not come anywhere close to the classic Hollywood film.

Lajja Shankar (Ashutosh Rana) is a psychopath and in blind faith kidnaps children and then murders them. Reet Oberoi (Preity Zinta), a CBI research trainee is assigned the task of tracking down Lajja Shankar. She is told to take help of another criminal who is in jail -- Aman Verma (Akshay Kumar). Aman is a professor and is a master in everything. When Aman and Reet interact, both start liking each other. Aman agrees to help Reet.

In the film there are many unbelievable aspects like why should a CBI officer take help of an ordinary criminal, how a CBI officer can get scared of darkness and many more.

Akshay Kumar is in a different role and has done justice to it. Priety Zinta has acted well. Ashutosh Rana is good but sometimes he overacts. Music is average.
