![]() REVIEW 'Pyar Koi Khel Nahin' (PKKN) or rather love is not a game. But the producer, director and everybody associated with the movie have played a big game with the audiences. One is unable to understand what the movie is all about and what it's trying to project. Anyway, lets solve the mystery of this film and try to find some clues, if possible. ![]() In the film, Sunil (Apurva Agnihotri) is a rich guy but surprisingly has his head intacted to his shoulder. He is a 'dildar' friend who takes 'punga' with everyone for his pals. He wants to help his chummy Ashok by pretending to be him and appearing before a girl whom his mother has selected for marriage. Nisha (Mahima Chaudhary) is a stage artist who wants to help her friend much in the same way as Sunil wants. This brings the two together and Sunil and Nisha fall madly in love with each other. Sunil has an adoring family consisting of grandmother (Deena Pathak), father (Kulbhusan Kharbanda), mother Reema Lagoo, kid sister and eldest loving brother Anand (Sunny Deol). The family wants Anand to marry and settle because he had been taking care of the family throughout and now its time for him to enjoy a bit. A girl (Nisha) is selected for him and for Anand its love at first sight. But Nisha cannot marry him because she is love with Sunil. Sunil on the other hand wants her to marry his brother. Unknowingly, Nisha starts working in Anand's firm and this time the dying love is saved by Ashok who reveals everything to Anand. He is successfully able to get them married but the family is not too happy about it. ![]() Slowly, the family accepts Nisha and start loving her immensely. In the meant time, Anand faithful employee Kanti (Mohnish Behl) and rival Nath (Dilip Tahil) come together and wants to spoil everything for him. They get together and the outcome is Sunil's death. The death comes at a critical time because Nisha has delivered a baby and it has no father. Anand is compelled to marry her and he agrees. Oops, during Nisha's first 'karva chauth', Sunil reappears and people make remarks like she having two husbands and so new Mahabharta happening in the family. To make the things easier, a war starts between Kanti, Nath and Anand and as happens in all movies, Anand sacrifices his life for his family. How could the writer think of an uncouth story like this which practically has no meaning at all? How is it possible that when a girl is forced to remarry, she is too happy about it and forget her husband so soon? How can a man who loved a girl, sacrificed his love for his brother and then marries her when the brother dies? Does all this happen in normal sane families? These are some questions which remain unanswered and will remain so for quite sometime. ![]() As far as performances are concerned, Sunny Deol has played his age and gave a very matured performance as such. Mahima and Apurva need to do a lot of homework before getting into such intense roles because they are not doing justice to the author backed roles to them. Mahima needs to concentrate more on her acting than eyeshadows and designer clothes. There are a lot of drawbacks in the movie. One wonders how such things remained unnoticed while the film was being made. There are times when one is forced to digest things which are otherwise not possible. To make the long story short, PKKN is a movie made in haste and is like a big hole in the universe. ![]() Songs of Pyar Koi Khel Nahin: 1. Apni To Life Mein Style 2. Tere Gaalon Pe Chandni 3.
