K Bhagyaraj, who has to his credit a hit like Aakhri Raasta starring Amitabh Bachchan in double role, has been totally unsuccessful in his latest venture Papa The Great. The story is different but sadly the screenplay, direction and the performance are below average. Jai (Kishen Kumar) is a very timid person but gives his son Sonu (Master Bobby) the impression that he is a very strong man so that his son does not become like him. Jai witnesses a murder and the police forces Jai to be an eyewitness in the court. The murderer (Satya Prakash) flees from jail and is after Jai. A frightened Jai meets Bihari Dada (Shatrughan Sinha) who helps Jai to come out of his fear. In the end Jai succeeds in proving to his son that he is a strong man. Performance-wise all the stars have given a below average performance. Direction is poor. A film which can be easily given the miss.
