This film is based on dowry -- the torture which the
daughter-in-law has to go through by her in-laws just for the sake of dowry. Pooja (Rani Mukherjee) is a law graduate. She gets married to Niranjan (Faraz Khan). Niranjan's parents (Himani Shivpuri and Pramod Mauttho) had expected lots of dowry but are disappointed when they don't get the same. Then starts the ill-treatment of Pooja by the in-laws including her husband. Fed up of them, she goes back to her father who then dies of shock. Then starts the drama of revenge. She uses her knowledge of law to take revenge. Rani Mukherjee in a deglamorised role has done a decent job. Faraz Khan is not very impressive. There are some good scenes in the film but in totality the film has nothing to glue the audience to the seats. The dialogues are good at few places. |
