SYNOPSIS


Kachche Dhaage is the Story of two ordinary people who are thrust into the most extraordinary circumstances. In dealing with these, they evolve into two remarkable and heroic individuals.

Aaftab (Ajay Devgan) and Dhananjay (Saif Ali Khan) are unaware of the fact that they are Step-Brothers. Each is immersed deeply in his own life. Dhananjay is a corporate yuppie - A successful adman on the verge of a major leap up his career ladder. Pretty fiance Ragini ( Namrata Shirodkar ), Penthouse, High-Flying, lifestyle, Bright future- He is the currest toast of south Bombay. Aaftab is a petty smuggler of small goods across the Rajasthan Border, living life perpetually on the edge. For him things rarely work out. He loves Rukhsana (Manisha Koirala), but her family wont have him, since he is illegitimate.

The Brother's first Meeting causes and emotional storm. They end up hating each other's existence with a passion. But, fate deals a googly. Aaftab is forced to push Dhananjay into a trap. Following a series of quick turns and reversals, the brothers find themselves handcuffed together and on the run. Chased by the BSF, the CBI, the Border Mafia, and every policeman along the way, these two aren't even quite sure what exactly they're being charged with. They race across the tricky terrain, on mobikes, cars, stolen trucks, a goods train, and on foot, They're shot at, beaten, hounded by dogs, betrayed and generally wrung through some very tight situations. This combined with their mutual dislike of each other, turns this chase into a lethal roller coaster ride.

From the blazing deserts of Rajasthan to the snow capped alpine peaks of Switzerland, Kachche Dhaage covers a sweeping visual canvas. It also boasts of some thrilling action sequences, including a parcticularly daring one in which Ajay Devgan had to be tied to the undercarriage of moving goods train.

The most distinguishing feature of the film is its music. Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan has surpassed himself in creating music that will be immortal. Kachche Dhaage also h as the unique distinction of being the first and the last file where the legendary Lata Mangeshkar and the Late Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan have worked together.
