JUNG

Cast: Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Aditya Panscholii, Raveena Tandon & Shilpa Shetty
Director: Sanjay Gupta & Satish Tandon
Music: Anu Malik
Rating: *

Jung has been directly lifted from the Hollywood film Desperate Measures. An honest Police Officer Veer (Jackie Shroff) is happy with his beautiful wife Naina (Raveena Tandon) and his 7-year old son Sahil (Master Yash). Veer had arrested Balli (Sanjay Dutt) who is a psychopath serial murderer and has already committed 14 murders.

Veer's life takes a new twist when his son is diagnosed to have blood cancer. He is unable to find a bone marrow donor who can save his son's life. The person whose bone marrow matches is that of Balli. At first Balli refuses to donate but later on agrees. At the last moment, Balli escapes from hospital. The responsibility for arresting Balli is given to another cop Khan (Aditya Pancholi) who is known for shooting the criminals even though they have surrendered.

In order to get the bone marrow, Veer needs Balli alive so is always saving him from the Khan's trigger. Towards the end when Balli is ready to flee from the country, his girlfriend Tara (Shilpa Shetty) changes his heart.

This is a film with a different story but very poor screenplay. There are no emotions which touch the audience's heart. Sanjay Dutt has become very repetitive in the killer's role. Jackie Shroff is okay and Raveena Tandon looks beautiful. Shilpa Shetty has nothing to do except to dance in the club. Music and direction are below average. An avoidable film.
