![]() REVIEW ![]() Whether or not love is victorious, this movie is sure to leave many a loveless hearts sooner than later! 'Hogi Pyar Ki Jeet' is a movie all about a woman who retaliates the murder of her brother and sister-in-law and compels her distracter to get his daughters married to her nephews. Shalini (Shashi Sharma) is a lady who vows to avenge all the sufferings which her family has gone through. For this she compels her nephew Kishan (Arshad Warsi) to leave his lady love Priti (Mayuri Kango) and opt for Thakur Gajendra Singh (Mohan Joshi)'s daughter. So she reveals how twenty years back his parents were murdered and she couldn't get married to her love Manjeet (Prithvi), Thakur's younger brother. ![]() Back in a village called Chandanpur, Raju (Ajay Devgan) is happy going around with cows and buffaloes and is too pleased to give them a bath. He bumps with Thakur Gajendra's daughter Meena (Neha) who cannot help wooing him. Are we not supposed to know that both Kishan and Raju are long lost brothers? Well, both Shalini and Kishan make a long and tedious journey to Chandanpur (this place has a lot of significance for them) where they are all geared up to finish off what started years back. The two brothers discover each other and vow only to marry Meena and Priti. The girls are taken into confidence and from here starts the regular stuff which happens in every second Hindi movie. ![]() Writer-director P Vasu has clubbed in many stories together and at the end, one hopes for something new. Surprisingly, both Ajay Devgan and Arshad Warsi have come off good and their little attempts at comedy has paid off. As far as the heroines are concerned, the little said about them would be better. But one suggestion here for Neha, the 'Chori Chori Nazrein Mili…..' girl. She looks far more better in softly flowing salwar kameezes than short skirts and hipsters. Better if she sticks to her former looks. ![]() There are too many characters in the movie who do nothing but increase the chaos and confusion. The songs are all tapori type and one wonders how could such stuff come from a lyricist like Sameer. The music duo Anand-Milind haven't done justice to their name. The first half hour of the movie is tolerable but rest of the story simply drags on and on. Someone who has nothing better to do than just sit watching Ajay Devgan and Arshad Warsi trying to be funny, better go watch the movie. But do it at your own risk. Songs of Hogi Pyar Ki Jeet1.
