ACP Karan (Sunny Deol) comes from Punjab to Mumbai to deal with underworld don Gawa Firozi (Jackie Shroff) and his men. Karan is a taskmaster who hits hard at the criminals without worrying for his life. This attitude of his becomes a cause of worry for his senior ACP Arjun Singh (Om Puri). Arjun Singh does not want to take any risk in his job just before his retirement, as his own friend was killed on duty. However, Arjun Singh's daughter Kajal (Preity Zinta) falls for Karan's braveness. Both fall in love and get married. In one of the incidents, Gawa's brother Sikander (Mukesh Tiwari) is killed by Karan. Gawa now wants to take revenge. The normal actions follow, resulting in the end of the evils.

The lead pair is mismatched. Sunny looks much older than Preity Zinta. Sunny has done this type of role for the nth time. He is good in action scenes. Preity has very little to do. Om Puri is wasted. Jackie Shroff is a misfit. Direction is poor and so is the music. An avoidable fare.
