It is a remake of Telugu film Sivaya. A revenge drama with whole lots of action and no newness. Govind (Sunil Shetty) and his sister (Shraddha Nigam) arrive in Mumbai from Punjab. There Govind sees that no one dares to open their mouth inspite of all the possible crime taking place in front of their eyes. In one of the rape cases, he fights against the criminals and this leads to enmity between the criminals and Govind. In revenge, the goons rape Govind's sister. Govind single-handedly does not kill the goons but awakes the people in the society to fight against the crime. There is another plot in the film about Govind's personal life which is shown in flashback. Govind is married against his wishes to his guru's daughter (Suman Rangnathan) to save his family. Govind's wife bears someone else's child. However she tells her brother (Sharad Kapoor) that Govind does not treat her properly. But when he comes to know the truth about his sister he joins hands with Govind and poisons his own sister. One of the village girls (Sushmita Sen) also loves Govind, and she later becomes a police officer. There is also another love angle played by Namrata Shirodkar. One hero and three heroines and all are wasted. There are too many villains who are useless. Performance-wise Sunil Shetty plays his role well. Sushmita Sen looks good but is sheerly wasted. Rest of the cast is just about average. There are some good scenes in the film but that is not enough to stick for three hours. An avoidable film.
