The Players Of The War

Though Mobile Suit Gundam is about a war between billions of people, the main cast centers around a young and inexperienced Federation crew based on the White Base, a Pegasus class mobile suit carrier.

There are more bit players on the Zeon side that come and go (and perish) in the series, as such, there are less "main" characters from that side, though there are some significant ones.

Federal Forces

	AMURO RAY
	Age : 15 Height : 168 cm The hero of the series and the pilot of the RX-78 Gundam, Amuro is a sullen and antisocial youth more comfortable with machines than people. Once Amuro became the pilot of the Gundam, his life and personality begin to change dramatically. Though Amuro is fiercely possessive of the Gundam, he begins to form genuine friendships and develop a sense of duty and compassion.

BRIGHT NOAH

Age : 19
Height : 175 cm

Bright was just six months in uniform when he finds himself the highest-ranking survivor of the White Base crew after the surpise attack on Side 7. Rising to the occasion, he proves himself a superb captain and leader.

Bright's military background and no-nonsense temperament place him at odds with his crew of civilian recruits, but eventually he begins to loosen up a little.

	FRAU BOW
	Age : 15 Height : 160 cm Amuro's neighbor at Side 7, Frau would probably describe herself as his girlfriend, though it often seems like he doesn't know she exists. Aboard the White Base, she becomes a medic and babysitter, shepherding around the ship's trio of war orphans.

HAYATO KOBAYASHI

Age : 15
Height : 150 cm

One of Amuro's Side 7 neighbors, the diminutive Hayato has a competitive streak a mile wide. Fearless and determined, Hayato never hesitates to charge into battle in the hapless Guntank.

His goal in life is to prove himself against Amuro, but it's Hayato who gets the last laugh, winning the heart of Amuro's neglected sweetheart Frau Bow; after the war, he and Frau marry and adopt the White Base's trio of kiddie mascots.

KAI SHIDEN

Age : 17
Height : 168 cm

The White Base's resident bad-attitude poster child, the cynical Kai has very mixed feelings about serving in the Federal Forces. Alternately clown and coward, Kai is nonetheless pressed into service as the Guncannon pilot.

After the war's end he has no compunction about returning to civilian life, whereafter he develops his interest in amateur photography into a career in journalism.
