Pind Dadan Khan

It is named after Dadan Khan the Rajput Chieftain who held sway here in the second quarter of the 17th century. It was a rich trade center. Its importance caused the British to make Pind Dadan Khan a municipality in 1876. However, with the passage of time interests shifted and priorities changed relegating the once bustling center of trade to a sleepy town. Even today the town boasts of vestiges of a grand past and a short two hours visit is definitely rewarding. Facilities for overnight stay rather unsatisfactory. Locally woven bed covers brought directly from the weaver are a good buy.
