Carl Robinson, the former slave turned baseball player (he first appeared in "Run For Your Life") has finally found the good life as a Major League star. His new found good luck takes a turn for the worse when Carl is challenged by another Immortal. When witnesses find Carl standing over a decapitated body, he becomes a fugitive from the law. Pursued by lawman Matthew McCormick, whose interest in Carl goes beyond cop and criminal, Carl turns to MacLeod for help.
