In 1999 , almost every girl in Thailand has fallen in love with Gil , a 17 year - old German  boy who has captured their hearts with his song " If You Only Knew. " ( featuring the Moffatts )  Come with me to discover more about this ' soft ' grunge rock musician.

                Gil Doron Reichstadt Ofarim , or Gili ( which means my peace ) , was born on August 13 , 1982. The munich youngster has taken everyone's heart by storm with his excellent manners  and it seems that his feeling for music has been with him since the cradle. His father is none other than Abi Ofarim , the world famous musician. It was his father who gave Gil his first guitar as a present when he was only 3 years old. From that moment on , Gil had only one wish : to become a musician and singer.

                Gil's fate was decided a long time ago. At the age of 9 , he stood on stage next to his father for the first time. The audience was so fastinated with his little interlude that they wanted an encore from him - and not from the main act.

                And the film world , as well , discovered him at a very young age. He was 10 years old when he was engaged for 14 episodes of the music series " Ping Pong " , in which he not only acted , but also performed as an entertainer , singing and dancing. When he was 13 years old , he produced a 15 - minutes long advertising film for the German sport TV channel " DSF "

                He has taken up a lead role in the photo love story " 2 + 2 = Love " in the German youth magazine " Bravo " The part seems to have been cut out for him : he plays a young musician , who not only charms the entire production team , but has left the hearts of all the female readers spinning. After only 2 episodes of the series , Gil has received more than 1,000 love letters from his fans. And the magazine has also reacted very quickly ; instead of the planned 6 episodes , there were 10 episodes produced !!!

                " Bravo " magazine also thanked Gil's fans by publishing a 2 - page story about Gil , and " Bravo TV "  broadcast a report about Gil's life. On the show Gil sang the song " For Heaven's Sake " , which he wrote especially for the photo love story.

                It was this song that raised the general interest in him , and immediately numerous producers were knocking on Gil's door. The production team Andy Jonas and Julian Feifel , known through their work with Michel Cretu  ( Enigma ) , Peter Schiling , U 96 and many others  ,  were able to convince the young talent with " Round 'n' Round ( It Goes ) " , his first single. Then they immediately recorded those energetic pop - rock tune together with Gil. And it is a tune which was definitely custom made for him.

                Gil launched his first album ' Here I Am ' and he got his first platinum here in Thailand. Also the second one had already come out. It's called ' The Album ' COOL work , Don't miss. Now we're waiting for his next more !!!
