These Animals of this World

Stop a moment my friend and listen. Listen to the cries of the world. Do you not hear them? Do they not reach you? Are you not human?

Can you not feel the suffering of these poor retched animals? I hear the cries of those people fighting the just causes of animals. I hear all too clearly their battle cries, their slogans, and stories of animal suffrage, and my friend I cry. Yes, with heavy heart filled with pity I cry. I cry not for the animals, not for the suffering that they endure, no. I cry for those who can cry for the animals. I cry for those who can cry, cry so as to flood the earth with tears, yet for those humans poor, weak, sick, starving, and dying they have no more tears. I cry for those who rally and those who fight for the rights of animals so badly treated with zest and zeal in great amount, yet for the rights, the freedoms, the very dignity of their fellow human brothers and sisters they have no strength for fight nor rally left within their hearts and bodies. Yes, my friend I hear your cries for the animals of this world. And it is for them that I cry. These animals that you are.
