BIRTHPLACE:    Winnipeg, MB CANADA



Scott was raised one of 5 siblings on a farm in the Canadian countryside by two musically gifted parents. His father is Principal Oboe for the Winnepeg Symphony Orchestra and his mother is the director of a family crisis center. The acting bug bit early, he began his first television show "Let's Go!" at the age of 10. He was active in theatre all through school, until at the age of 17 he moved to New York to persue his dream of acting. He bussed alot of tables and did a Dr. Pepper commercial and landed the part of young 'Stuart Chandler' on the daytime drama "All My Children". He returned home to Canada and finished school.

Los Angeles called and Scott came, landing the lead roll in the telefilm, "There Was A Little Boy" staring opposite Cybil Sheppard. This still runs often on Lifetime. He was critically acclaimed in LA for his wonderful acting. Soon after Disney signed him to a 3 picture deal and he filmed "White Fang 2: Myth of the White Wolf". Scott was HOT! He was cast as 'Newt Call' in "Lonesome Dove: The Series" which ran for 2 years. Between seasons of LD, Scott took time to shoot a first season episode of "The X-Files" titled "Miracle Man".

Scott had the good fortune to attend the right party at the Derby and met his wife, Marty. The couple were married and had a son, one year later.

In 1997 Bairstow took the part of 'Kyle Sullivan' in the yet to be released independant film "Black Circle Boys". Soon it was back to work with Disney, he became 'Marty Stouffer' in the very successful film "Wild America". Then came another television movie "Killing Mr. Griffin", Scott played high school senior 'Mark Kinney'. That same year Scott was asked by actor/director Kevin Costner to take the part of 'Luke' in the picture "The Postman".

1998 was a busy year as well. Scott was fortunate that TNT loves westerns and picked him to portray 'Son Holland' opposite Kris Kristofferson in their film "Two for Texas". Lippman and Keyser over at FOX had been paying attention notice Scott's great work. They cast him as 'Henry', Yale graduate turned cyber-porn writer, in "Significant Others". Lippman and Keyser weren't finished with Bairstow yet. They cast him for half season stint on "Party of Five". He was 'Ned' the girlfriend beating college boyfriend of 'Julia Salinger' (Neve Campbell).

While filming "Party of Five" Scott and his lovely actress wife had their second son. CONGRATULATIONS!

Scott spent some time back in Canada shooting the 13 episode Chris Carter series "Harsh Realm. He also recently filmed a small part in the MGM-UA movie, Mary Jane's Last Dance in North Carolina.

Most recently Scott was picked to join the ensemble cast of the new Dream Works/NBC Studios series "Semper Fi". SI is filming now and should air this FALL on NBC.

Scott's hobbies are wide ranging from writing music to snowboarding. He enjoys jazz, classical, folk and christian music, artist Al Jolson stands out. His favorite thing to do is play with his kids and kiss his wife. This is a wise man!
