The Roast

Announcer: "... so if there is need of their super services tonight, forget it."




In the second "Legends of the Super-Heroes" special,
Batman & Robin are summoned to the Hall of Justice
along with their peers, to be good-naturedly
roasted by friend and foe alike.

Everytime Ed McMahon says the word "swamp",
the indestructible Solomon Grundy hits him.
The Super-Heroes don't seem to mind.

Super-Villain Sinestro rakes his old enemy
the Green Lantern over the coals.


Aunt Minerva looks the Super-Heroes over as
prospective husbands.


The Flash seems to take it in stride.


Mordru does a song and dance number,
then begins hurling lightining bolts.


This publicity photo is dated 1978, and was probably taken around
the time "Legends" was being filmed. "The Roast" segment of "Legends
of the Super-Heroes" marked the last time Adam West and Burt Ward
portrayed Batman & Robin on television.

Will they ever return? Who can say ...
