Hi. It's 2am and I just returned from work. Tonight I waitressed a
Barmitzvah. The boy was the nephew of MTW [Michael T. Weiss]. Of course MTW was there, he was
very nice. To be honest I have seen commercials of his show but I must admit
I am a geek who doesn't watch TV. I have never watched the show.
MTW arrived a little earlier than the other guests because he came to take
photos with the family. I kept staring at him because I couldn't figure out
where I knew him from. He looked so familiar. I waitress at an exclusive
country club and I decided that perhaps he was a member that I have seen only
a few times before. Then finally a waiter told me who it was. I was lucky
because he happened to sit at my table. One waiter asked him for autographs.
I didn't because in the past staff has been fired for asking for autographs.
So instead, I asked the gutsy waiter to ask him for me. He did and MTW was
nice about it. Now I wish I would have asked him to autograph one for my
niece because she is going to be hurt. I had him make the other one out to
my nephews. It just seemed more like a show for boys-I dont know.
He really is a handsome guy. He's pretty tall too.
While watching "Bank" tonite, I remembered running into Keene Curtis at a
Staples Office Supply Store about 4 years ago. The guy who ran the copy
center said he wished he could get Keene's autograph for his girlfriend, so
I went up to him and asked if he could come over to the copy center and
meet a fan. He was very gracious and accomodating and gave a nice
autograph to him. We chatted for a few minutes about NY vs. LA. He said
he liked the amount of tv work in LA but he liked the pace of NY.
I just came back from watching the local taping of some Pretender scenes in my
area.
The outdoor scenes were visible to the public although it was officialy a
closed set. The scene was of Jarod climbing down a fire escape. There was a
stunt double for MTW. MTW was there and looks even more splendid in person
then on screen . he was VERY gracious to all of the crew and fans around him.
Before filming began, he had signed autographs for people - he was so nice to
the people at the corner florist shop, they sent him a floral arrangement as a
thank you.
He was the only tP cast member there.
Video taping and photo taking were not allowed - and as I knew that I did not
bring any equipment which was a good move as they actually asked people to
stop when they tried to.
In case anyone is wondering - MTW is an amazing man - SO humble, funny, shy-
ish, GORGEOUS, tall......he is amazing and I am SO grateful for the chance to
have seen him work and experience his gracious nature first hand.
It`s been over a week now but I've been savoring it... "Thank you Faith for your interest and the wonderful web page you've created.
This version of my Pretender Sightings page was born on July 15, 2002
Jeffrey Donovan (Kyle) a letter and a separate questionnaire -- not only to
both of his agents but also to the theater in NY where he just finished
performing an off Broadway play. About two weeks later my questionnaire came
back (I sent a self addressed stamped envelope) and a few of my questions
filled out **in his own handwritting**. To say I was pleased or happy or
extremely excited would be an understatement...so I won `t even try to express
my feelings...;-)) He wrote on what project he is currently working on (you
can find it on my Broadway and Off page) and that he started out performing in
plays in high school (which must be a pretty standard way to start out). This
is what he had to say to *me*...
I don't usually respond to fan mail but your hard work impressed me.
All the best"
Then his signature
