Page 1, Panel 4 - Here, we see Mr Bones, former member of Infinity Inc., and accidental killer of the original Star-Spangled Kid. Mr Bones now works for the DEO (Department of Extranormal Operations) - for more information, see the short-lived Chase series.
Pages 2-3 - Lined up here, is the roster of the new JSA. Only Hippolyta and Starman are absent, the former due to her duties on Paradise Island, and Jack, because of other issues he has to deal with in Opal City (see the Grand Guignol arc, currently in Starman).
Page 4, Panel 2 - Atom-Smasher to Hector: "I'm sure your wife, Lyta, would be proud too....." Here, Al is referring to Hector's wife (before he died), who is also the former Infinity Inc. member, Fury.
Page 5, Panel 1 - In the foreground we can see the costume of the Sandman (Wesley Dodds), and Sentinel's lantern, which was his personal power source before he changed his name from Green Lantern to Sentinel. In the background, on the right-hand side, we see a large red X, which is the chest-piece worn by Hawkman before his disappearance to limbo. Graeme Fitzgerald points out that there looks to be a bust of the original Starman above Hawkman's straps.
Page 5, Panel 2 - The statue here is of Terry Sloane, the original Mr Terrific.
Page 5, Panel 3 - On display here is the mask of the original Dr Mid-Nite, Charles McNider.
Page 5, Panel 4 - The mask and mace seen in this panel also belong to Hawkman.
Page 6, Panel 4 - Black Adam (real name: Theo Adam, originally: Teth Adam) is an old enemy of Captain Marvel, hailing from as far back as Egyptian times. He appeared several times in Jerry Ordway's 1990s "Power of Shazam!" series, and in revised post-Crisis continuity, Black Adam was the murderer of Billy Batson's (Captain Marvel's) parents (Credit: Jameson Combs).
Page 8, Panel 4 - "As if simple lightning could harm me....." Like Captain Marvel, it is lightning that imbues Theo Adam with power, turning him into Black Adam.
Page 17, Panel 2 - Black Canary lost her Canary Cry in Green Arrow: The Longbow Hunters, as a result of torture inflicted on her by drug lords. For more Black Canary information visit CanaryNoir.com.
Page 21, Panel 5 - Here we meet Chase, agent for the DEO, and star of a short-lived series in the late 1990s.
