A gentle breeze murmurs through the leafy boughs, sighing, whispering, caressing your face. A hawk shrieks overhead and you glance up to see the winged creature circling on the currents of the wind.

You inhale deeply, breathing the refreshing, fragrant air. The smell of salt lingers about you.

Distantly you hear the booming of the Irish Sea and the echoing cries of a gull.

Turning your attention to the path winding between the gently undulating hills, you urge your horse forward. The ringing of shod hooves on gravel sounds loud in the serene silence before dawn.

Pastures begin to roll on either side, acres of lush grass bordered by darkly-stained wooden fencing. Horses graze peaceful, here a white Lippizaner mare with a black foal at her side, here a dapple grey gelding.

You hear a deep cry and turn in the saddle to see a brawny Friesian stallion charging across a pasture. His muscles ripple beneath his glossy hide. He comes to a sliding halt inches before the fence, swinging his head in your direction with a whinny, ears perked and nostrils flared.

Smiling, you go on.

Soon a stable appears over the crest of a hill. Eagerly you urge your horse forward. The sun is rising in a sea of seething, frothing clouds, its golden light splashing across the land. You dismount, wrap your reins about a post, and look about you. For a moment you linger, gazing at the sunrise; then you shake yourself and step into the stable.

The smell of horses and hay drifts around you. As your eyes grow accustomed to the dim light, you see a girl cleaning stalls. She lays aside the pitch-fork, dusts off her jeans, and strolls to you. "Hello! Would you like a tour of our barn?"
