23 MAR 1999: To increase the utility of the new search facility, I have embarked upon major format changes to the FAQ and WARTS pages, beginning here, with the FAQs. Principally, each FAQ will be given its own page. These will be recognized in the questions list by a special icon (

), and the complete text of the question will be a link. Salient characteristics of the FAQ form are noted in this model, FAQ #0.

FTM WARTS: A list of blemishes and soft spots in FTM and ancillary products and services. Some are more serious than others. Offered as a service to the FTM user, so that undue time is not wasted spinning one's wheels on known problems. Occasional palliatives.

FTM Message Boards and Mail Lists

Where can I find the FTM Message Boards and Mail Lists?

NEW FORUMS:

FTM has recently entered a new partnership and GenForum now supplies all FTM Message Board services. Note that these are no longer restricted access.

OLD MESSAGE BOARDS:

In their infinite wisdom, Brøderbund/TLC have removed the old message boards which had been managed by BB/TLC.

MAIL LISTS:

The main one of interest, for help with FTM products, is FTMTECH-L:

To subscribe to the FTMTECH-L mailing list:

Send an email to ftmtech-l-request@lists.best.com (or click the hyper link).
Enter "subscribe" in the body of the message (don't use quotation marks and do check your spelling)
Turn off or delete any automatic signature added
Send your message

If you want to receive messages individually, follow the first two steps above and include on the second line of the body of the message the keyword "subsingle" (again don't include the quotation marks).

It is not my intention to subvert, duplicate, replace or compete with any other similar list.
Although some Q&A are addressed to the novice, generally I expect a certain degree of expertise on the part of the reader.
