Yes, it is possible
to represent same sex "marriages" in FTM — at least it is in 4.4. As long
as you accept that one partner will be called "husband" and the other "wife",
and their union is referred to as "marriage" — no problem. There are two
ways to accomplish this:

Define both partners with their proper gender. Determine which one you
wish to have the "correct" gender for "Husband" or "Wife". Select that
person. Click People/Fix relationship mistakes/Attach Spouse. Find and
select the proper partner.

Define one partner as female and the other as male. After they are "hooked
up" on a family page, click on the "parents of" tab of the one whose gender
is incorrect and change it (the gender) on the family page thus displayed.
