Zipped Gedcoms for
Downloading
I receive many requests for Gedcoms and don't always have the time to create them individually.
Therefore, I will be placing zipped Gedcoms for various families on this page. If you do not have
a program to unzip these Gedcoms, there are shareware programs that can be downloaded. Two possible
sources are:
PKWare Software Downloads
WinZip Software Downloads
My Brother's Keeper program produces Gedcoms that include a source field for the various entries:
birth, baptism, marriage, death, burial, etc. However, most other programs do not use these source
fields, and these sources will not be imported to those programs since they cannot be accessed
by the other programs. You can still
determine the sources by opening the Gedcom with a word processor, then searching for the descendant
in question. Once you have located this descendant, you will find "SOUR" after each event that is
entered for him. These are the source fields.
This is our earliest known Cullum/Cullom ancestor. Includes parents of spouses if
known. This Gedcom contains information that has been sent to me by other researchers, information
gleaned from Cullums Synonymous, and other sources. I did not include some of these families in
the online searchable HTML Gedcom because I do not personally have the records to verify
the reliability of this information. Since I live in NC, I have been able to verify the records for the
early Cullums/Culloms and descendants who continued to live in NC. However, some of the information
on the Tennessee, Texas, Alabama, Mississippi, etc. families came from other sources, and I do not have
the original records for those families. If you find
errors or can add to what you find here, please let me know so I can correct my
records and create another Gedcom. If you descend from one of these lines but don't find your
family listed, I will be happy to include any new information you might be willing to send me.
