Thalia's Spareribs
1 11 oz. bottle of ketchup same bottle of water
3/4 cup lightly packed brown sugar
3/4 cup chopped onion
3 tbsp white vinegar
3 tbsp worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
5 lbs. pork or beef spareribs
Water to cover ribs
Cut ribs into strips, cover with water and bake at 350 degrees for at
least one hour.
Mix first 10 ingredients together in a pot and bring to a boil. Reduce
and simmer for one hour or until thickened to preferred consistency.
Remove ribs from oven and pour off water and excess fat.
cover with sparerib sauce and return to 350 degree oven for about a half
an hour.
Keep an eye on it at this point to prevent burning and turn
ribs at least once during this time.
Serve and enjoy!!
Do serve with mashed potatoes cus the family here loves to put the sauce on the mashed potatoes! ______________________________________________________
