Theme
Picking a theme for a party 3 to 4 weeks
before and following through with it is important.
Once the Theme has been decided you need to decide if it's going to be formal or
informal.
Weather it will be held inside or outside. In the backyard, inside the home
or maybe even
a near by park or Restaurant.
Next decide the Time and Date. How long this party will last. Most party last
2 to 4 hours, unless
you decide this is to be a sleep over. Also remember to follow your theme
through out you party from
beginning to end.

Decorate the day before the party this will be less stressful.
A good rule to follow when inviting guests.
Example: If this is a Birthday Party the age of the child
that it is being given for. Again it depends if this is to be a sleep over
party.
Make a list of guests with each person name, phone number and address on a
notepad.
Remember to send out Invitations about 2 weeks before Party.
For invitations you can either buy or make them depending on your budget.
Here again follow through with your Theme on which every you decide.
Making invitations can be simple and cost cutting to make.
For making invitations check your local stores for gift wrapping paper or
doilies (they can be white or color).
Have on hand white or again color construction paper, glue, magic markers, scissors.
Cut wrapping paper and inside paper in to nice size squares. Be sure to cut
inside square slightly smaller.
If using paper doilies again cut inside paper slightly smaller. Then glue
it to the inside
of the wrappingpaper or doilies. Also besure to include a RSVP card.
On the
inside of each card.
Who the Party is for.
Time and Date of Party.
If this is to be a formal or informal party.
Also include weather it to be held outside or inside.
Weather there is to be gifts giving or not(might set a price on gifts.)
Add a self addressed and stamped RSVP card inside of Invitation.
Or you might give a call back number.

Menu

If your party is to be around a meal time include dessert of Ice Cream and
cake.
Parties that are not during meal time cake be Cake,Ice Cream and a Beverage.
Decide if you want to have a Buffet ,finger food or a sit down type meal.
Decide if you are going to prepare the meal or have it catered.
If it to be a sit down meal , are you going to have servers, how many will
you need.
Depending on how large your party is to be you you might want to
rent Tables and Chairs also a Tent if it to be held outside, plus food warmers.
Remember some foods can be prepared ahead of time.
Purchase food items that can be prepared ahead of time and frozen until time
of party.
One week before your party prepare a final list of the menu items you will
need to purchase.
If you are having it Catered check and confirm all orders for food items.
Besure to confirm with Caterer how many will be attending so there is plenty
of food.
Favors and Games
Games
Remember to pick out age
appropriate games.
Young children become bored easy.
Some Adults also do not like to play games. Remember to plan just a few games.
As for Prizes for Games also be sure they are age appropriate for both
Children and Adults.
Favors
Favors can also be used
as prizes.
Favors can be home made or store bought.
Children love to make their own favors, which they can
take home as extra gifts from a party.
There are many ideas to make Favors , but try and stay with your Theme.
