Academy of Achievement (Learn about people of notable achievement from civil rights pioneer Rosa Parks to astronaut Alan Shepard.  Included are video and audio clips.)

Academy of American Poets (The most widely recognized organization for poets helps to find info on poets, answers questions on copyrights and how to get published, plus has lists of exhibits, awards and programs.)

The Activity Cupboard’s Science Activities

The American Library Association’s Great Sites for Kids & Parents (There are links to over 700 websites about all kinds of things that are fun and educational.  A good place to look when you need help with homework or projects.)

The American Library Association’s Kids Connect (Fill out the form on their site when you need information for school projects and reports.  Just let them know what you need several days before the project is due and a school
librarian will email you with help, usually within 2 days.  Since it takes them
a couple of days, don’t ask for help with something you need to turn in the
next day.)

American Memory (This site from the Library of Congress has more

Internet Public Library (One of the best sites you’ll ever find, here’s a place to spend a lot of time learning, having fun, or just exploring.  This is a great site with excellent reference sources, exhibits, magazines, newspapers and online texts, and just about any subject young people could want to know about.  Subjects include homework help, reading, writing, poetry, comics, science, sports, history and politics, geography, art, music, museums, math, health, computers and internet, career and college, clubs and organizations, dating, make-up and fashion, plus fun and games.)
