When you first go to the transloader, there will be some information for you to read if you want. It is updates and info, that the owner puts up for you.
Cookies - one of the first things you will see when you scroll down, is the words "Load Cookies", followed by the numbers 1-8. You can use these to save your information, so you dont have to type it in everytime. Just fill in the first 3 boxes of the ftp server info on the page, then go all the way to the bottom of the page, till you see "save cookies" with the numbers 1-8. Pick which number you want your info saved on, and you will get a popup asking you how many days you want the cookies saved. Choose what you want, and hit "OK". Then next time you visit the transloader, you will come to load cookies, and you will select the number where your info is saved, and then all you will have to fill out is the directory and the new name for your file.
Now I will explain what goes in each box on the page.
1. Your homepage base url: (this one is optional) Just put the url of the homepage where you will be sending all the stuff you are going to transload.
2. File to be copied: (you have to fill this out) Put in the url of what you are wanting to transload...If you are not sure how to get the url of what you want to transload, I have instructions on the bottom of the page. If you came to the transloader directly from the image you want, this will already be filled in. That is why I suggested putting the transloader on an F key. while viewing the image, you just hit F-1 or whatever you put the transloader on, and you wont need to fill this out.
The next section is the FTP Server info:
3. Remote ftp server: (required)
If you use GeoCities, type in ftp.geocities.com
If you use Tripod, type in ftp.tripod.com
If you use Angelfire, type in ftp.angelfire.com
If you use TalkCity, type in home.talkcity.com
If you use Xoom, type in ftp.xoom.com
Those are just the main ones. If you use any server other than those, check on your server for the info you would use.
4. User login: (required) Type in your username that you use to get into your homepage file manager.
5. Password: (required) Type in your password for your homepage file manager.
6. Subdirectory: (optional) More than likely, you have just started your homepage, and are not into subdirectories yet, so we will skip this one for now, as it is optional anyway.
7. New name for file: (required) Type in what you want the file to be named. If you are transloading a rose that is a gif, then you can name the file rose.gif
If you are transloading a rose that is a jpg, then you will name it rose.jpg
8. Now you will just pick one of the freeloaders to use. They are numbered 1-4. Pick any one.
9. Wait until you are taken to the next page, and you will see (inside a text box) the transloader info. That will tell you if the transload took place.
If you happen to get a "too busy to use right now" pop up, after clicking one of the freeloaders, chances are your file was transloaded anyway. You will have to go to your homepage to check and be sure.
I hope this helps you in learning to transload. If you have any questions, feel free to email me.
