BIOGRAPHY:
Ross Herbert Clark, the son of Ernest Eugene and Emma (Hewitt) Clark, was born May 20, 1882, in Livermore, IA. He attended school there and later began farming his family's farm. On October 13, 1912, he married Lulu Winkel in Livermore. They made their home on a farm on the edge of Livermore and established Clark Dairy. In 1931 they moved to a farm south of Livermore and continued operating Clark Dairy until 1946. Mrs. Clark died in 1953. Mr. Clark retired from active farming in 1957, but continued to live on the farm. He married Jessie L. Leighton on May 19, 1957 in Salem, Oregon. She died August 1, 1971. Mr. Clark was a lifelong member of Bethel Presbyterian Church. Ross Clark passed from this life on June 25, 1980 at the North Care Center at Humboldt, Iowa. He had attained the age of 98 years 1 month and five days. He is survived by one daughter, Gwen, Mrs. Bernard Berg, of Des Plaines, Illinois. One step-daughter, Mrs. Gale Herbst of Salem, Oregon, one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Vera Clark of Livermore, Iowa, seven grand-children and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Lulu, his second wife Jessie, and one son Donald. |
