470 Railroad Club, The. Maine Central Mountain Division. - I've heard
that it is a good and very thorough book on the division but I don't own a
copy and can't seem to buy one. If anyone has any ideas please e-mail me

Belcher, Francis C. Logging Railroads of the White Mountains. Appalachian
Mountain Club: Boston, Massachusetts,1980. (Brown) - A great book showing
basically all of the the logging railroads that once were in the White Mountains
including some of the ones that branch off the MEC.

Bachelder, J. Leonard. The Mountaineer. Massachusetts Bay Railroad
Enthusiasts, Inc., 1997. - A very good description of both the MEC from N.
Conway to Fabyans and of the B&M branch to N. Conway from an excursion
in June, 1997.

Bennett, Randall H. The Old Photographs Series: The White Mountains.
Alan Sutton: Augusta,1994. - Mostly shows one of the major reasons why the
railroads came to the White Mountains (tourism) however there are a few photos.

Downs, Virginia C. Life By the Tracks. Phoenix Publishing, West Kennebunk:
Maine,1983. - A documentary of the life of the Evans family in the Mount
Willard Section House next to Willey Brook Bridge. A good reading for just
about anyone.

Robertson, Edwin B. Building the Railroad Through Crawford Notch.
1996. - Documents the construction of the railroad through Crawford Notch
through old Stereoscopic cards.

Robertson, Edwin B. Maine Central Diesel Locomotives: Revised Edition
.1988. (Green)- Same as the steam roster except for all of the diesels! Contains
all of the diesel locomotives that operated on the MEC till Guilford
Transportation took over.

Robertson, Edwin B. Maine Central Steam Locomotives. 1994. (Yellow)-
A roster of the Steam Engines that operated on the Maine Central Railroad
from 1923 to the End of the Steam Era. Contains many well done pictures and
sketches.

Robertson and English. A Century of Railroading In Crawford Notch.
1990. - A historic picture guide to the Maine Central Railroad in Crawford
Notch from Bartlett to Fabyans. A good starting place.
