Peter Koonrad Snook was born May 4, 1744; died March 13, 1818; served in the Rev. War from Northhampton County, Penn. (near where Casper Snook was from). Peter died in Northcumberland Co. Penn. His estate was taken care of by Peter and John Snook. Peter Jr. and John lived in the same area. I think this is the father of Casper and Peter Snook who Henry remembered attending the funeral of. Regarding Peter Snook There has been a lot of discussions, views, conflicts and confusion over this issue of controversy over Peter Snook. Everything we have found, leads us to believe that there were two or more distinctively different Snook families. Then again , the different ways of spelling Snook have also added to the confusion, such as .Schnook, Schnuch, Schnuchs, Schnuck, Schnug, Schot, Snoch, Snock, Snoek, Snooh, Snook, Snooke, Snooks, Snouck, Snuck, Snuke.
According to D. P Maxwell: in an article written in the Snook Newsletter dated 1999, D. Maxwell wrote, "I agree with members who believe we are dealing with separate families containing a Peter SNOOK and existing during the same time periods. They may have had a common origin at some time in the past, but in later years were intermixed by well meaning researchers largely due to a lack of definitive documents proving otherwise." **End Quote** I also agree with D. Maxwell, hopefully, it can be resolved some day. Maybe out there in some one's closet, unknowingly, they have something that might resolve this issue. We can always hope.
