SHIMMERING STARS

Falling
Little shimmering stars
Soft caresses against my skin.
Cold flesh
And a colder touch
Shattering, breaking
Free of confines
Running wild
No longer constrained.
Coldness seeps in
White flakes dancing in the sky
Drifting slowly down
To land gently upon the cold skin.
Falling down
Knees hitting the cushion of white
Hands grasping at the crushed ice.
Tears streaming
Rolling down
Falling free
Mixing with the coldness
Falling
Little shimmering stars of sorrow.
