Standing at a bus stop, I hear the dull buzz of the streetlamp
Flurescent lights flash in the distance though I pay them no mind.
My eyes stray upwards, searching the heavens
The little firefly lights shinning in the sky down on me.
Yeah, these tiny firefly lights soothing my soul
I can hear the cars driving in the distance
Smell the hamburger shop a few hundred feet away
Yet all these things seem distant
As I gaze up at the firefly lights
They light up my heart,
Bring a smile to my face,
Make me forget all of my worries.
No, nothing can replace these firefly lights
that seem to shine just for me in their nighttime sky
Tiny and small,
The very semblance of hope itself
Together they are so strong, so powerful,
Yet I think I have the audactiy to call them mine,
To claim them as my own
just as every other girl does
as she looks up into the nighttime sky and sees these firefly lights.
