Here is an example of a simple house layout. Not just any house mind ya, its the main floor layout I submitted to the developer building our home. For clarity, I have removed all the dimensioning, notes and electrical connections. In total I submited seven plans showing every little detail. One can't be too careful when dealing with developers:))))). The builders original layout had three bedrooms and a family room, which reduced the overall living space accordingly. Due to slow sales I was allowed to make all the changes I wanted without extra cost, including adding an addition three feet to the garages length. Its probably not to everyones liking but unlike most homes, it is fully functional without any wasted space.
Here is an example of a detail I prepared for a building permit for a deck I built off the kitchen. This is no ordinary deck, as it is constructed entirely of recycled plastic. " PLASTIC " !!!!! you say, yes, plastic.
I had the manufacturer add the pigment I wanted, ( deep burgundy ) and he produced nominal lumber sizes, in this case, 2" x 6" for the decking and 4" x 4" for the supports. Why plastic ? you ask, well in light of landfill sites being under siege, relative costs, durability, appearance and ease of construction, plastic lumber can't be beat. It will never rot, warp, splinter or lose its colour and if I get tired and want a change, it takes paint well. Then again....that would defeat the purpose of having a maintenance free deck, so if you go this route, make sure you pick a colour you can live with for a long time. BTW, its been up now for near 3 yrs and it looks as good as the day it was built, not only that, but I have the satisfaction of knowing it will out live me and I'll never have to maintain it.:)))))))))))
Here are some samples of pictograms, just 3 of the 140 I designed for CUTA, ( Canadian Transit Urban Association ). I was asked to develop a comprehensive set of symbols to convey messages without the use of words for use by transit agencies. The idea being, many people have learning disabilities, immigrants don't speak the language and inconsistant signage between transit agencies causes undue confusion. Pictograms express information in a way that all can easily understand and recognize. I am hoping to produce a reference manual for publication in the near future.
An example of a logo I designed for a Tackle and Bait Shop. You should have seen what I was given as a guide, the sketch looked like a sardine after having been run over by a steam roller. The final product was produced using mulitpe layers of vinyl.
This is a 3D version of my company logo, Simplex Graphics. I started the company on a part time basis to help pay for the purchase of a computer and other equipment, ( printers, scanners... etc ) but now I find myself in a postion to pursue it full time.
