Armour

Beneath a shell of chasten steel
Where no one knows what I feel
Where passions and sorrows can be found
Amidst a core of eider down

Suspended within, a fragile heart
Freely given, from the start
With outstretched hands, its there to share
With those worthy and willing to care

It is understood what this may bring
A world of anguish, a needles sting
Many times have I felt, it's piercing pain
But I can not change, I remain the same

For this is my nature and I also know
I will always be trusting and willing to show
What lies beneath an armour shell
Often heaven, sometimes hell

Worry not, for my shields in place
Small blessing for a ladies grace
For when the time comes, to again share inside
My armour I'll shed, I have nothing to hide.
