there is, to my knowlege, no

Yada yada Yada..........
My eyes opened to bright sunlight streaming through my open window.
The dreams had seemed so real. I had been having the dreams
off and on for the last week. Almost all the same. Huge
monstrous creatures. They were hiding and running around my school snatching
up kids. There was a lot of death in my dream. It scared me,
what my unconscious mind could produce.
School was boring that day, you know, Socials, Math, English,
Sewing. REALLY REALLY BORING! At lunch I talked with
my friends, the highlight of my school day. After school there was
some meeting for grade eights in the gym. I remember walking
through the halls wondering what kind of crap we were gonna see.
As soon as all the grade eights were in the gym, a man
walked on the stage. He was very eerie. It seemed as
though he were floating instead of walking.
“My friends,” he said in a high punctual tone, “Some of you are wondering
why I called you here,” I looked around and was startled by what
I saw. The walls of the gym were gone. Suddenly
we were standing on a floor of black marble in a ring of light surrounded
by a heavy black fog. The man’s voice came clear and loud through
the fog. “I am giving you a challenge, my friends, I shall
use my omnipotent power to create your challenge, if you wish to
accept it.”
“Why?” I asked.
Suddenly the fog turned bright red, and the man (If man he was) shouted,
“Because I want to! ,” The fog grew to a dark gray, “If you accept
you fight for your life, If not,”
“You die” I finished.
“Quite right,” the fog replied, “If you lose, you all die.
If you win everyone will live. The dead will be resurrected.
To win, you must destroy your opponents before they destroy all of you.”
“Who are the opponents?”
“Ask him.” The fog answered and a bright light lit on me. “Your
dreams were true boy”
A chill ran down my spine. We had no chance against the monsters.
“I’ll tell you later” I told them.
For those of you who care, my name is Andrew Brown. I’m
not that special, Brown hair (dyed black) Five feet / ten inches, grayish
blue eyes. I’m fat too, but if I don’t care why should you.
Time had stopped for us, the grade eights. We were alone in the gym. I
looked at the clock on the wall. 2:50. The hands never moved. The
doors were locked. Windows were shatterproof. We formed a big
group in the gym. I stood on the stage and told them everything I knew,
or thought I knew. I told them of the ice creature, he could freeze
you into ice. If you melted you’d be water! The monster that could
turn you into rock. The one that made you sleepy and when you fell
asleep, you were dead. Then there were the worst two.
One injected you with a fluid that would make you go insane, and you’d
be happy about it. The other, which I called a Berserkering,
would make you blinded by rage, you wouldn’t even recognize who you
were killing or why you were killing them.
“We must fight!” I told them, “If we give we’ll lose automatically,
If we fight we have a chance.” I heard murmurs of agreement and disagreement.
“We have different paths we can follow. Those who want to fight can,
those who want to give up can as well. But I am fighting for my...
OUR future”
Sweat poured down my brow. The fight was on. Almost
everyone chose to fight. Some gave up and vanished instantly.
I stood hesitantly waiting for an attack. I suddenly remembered a
vision of the monsters hiding in my dream.
“They’re waiting for us to come to them.” I said. Suddenly a
boy I didn’t know vanished. I alone had seen the tentacle.
Not all your visions will come true, a voice whispered in my head.
I looked at the ruler in my hand, I had used a pair of scissors to change
it into a makeshift stake. I walk to the doors where the boy had
disappeared. Some teens gasped as I walked out the door, but
my friend Dennis nodded. He knew what I had to do.
I walked down the eerily quiet hallway and sweat was coming down
in buckets. I saw the creature in a janitor’s closet. It had
sharp fangs and the tips of it’s tentacles had tiny pricks on the
end, for inserting the insanity poison I saw the kid standing there smiling
strangely. I threw the ruler and it broke through his skull easily.
He laughed once and collapsed. I looked at the monster and was scared.
I will get you. I don’t know whether he said it or if I felt it,
but I was scared.
I walked back into the gym. Some of the kids were missing. That
included Dennis and a girl named Roberta. I looked at the remaining
group. Most were scared, but my friend Jesse looked mostly
mad. That was bad. Anger makes people stupid. I walked
back into the hallway. I saw Dennis’ shirt on the ground, ripped
and bloody, I picked it up and kept walking I stopped at his locker and
dropped his shirt by it. Then I walked to my locker, and saw Travis.
He looked calm. Blood on his shoes.
“I killed one.” he said in a quiet manner. We opened our lockers,
and took out scissors, metalwork projects and anything else that was sharp.
We dropped them off in the gym. I got Kurt, Thomas, Carrie, and Steve
to come with us to some classrooms, we picked up ten metal rulers
and twelve pointing sticks, Thomas, Travis, and I went to the metalworks
room, the others went to wood works, and I set to sharpening the
rulers. I gave five to Thomas, and Travis and they headed to the
gym. I set to a trap in a hallway by the office a trip string
on the floor, connected to the rulers in the ceiling which would descend
onto the victim. Back at the gym I notified the others of the trap.
I brought play props out of the equipment room. Chocolate bars, caramel
corn, peanuts, flashlights, mirrors, and pencils. I sent Jesse to
sharpen the pencils and distribute them as weapons, and I took the mirrors
out into the hall. I placed them on suspicious hallway walls
so people could see around the corner without sticking their head
out. Next I checked my trap. Two dead monsters. I reset
the trap and checked the office. I found pencils, more metal rulers,
staplers (just in case) and glass shards from a broken window. Back
at the gym I attached the sharp pieces of glass to a baseball bat
from the equipment room. I gave the bat to Emberly and two thoughts
struck me. We had only seen three monsters, where were the
others? The other thought was of sharp objects in the wood works
lab.
I sent Matt, Dallas, Nicole and Jimmy to the science room, to
see what they could find. Only Dallas returned, his body bleeding
in several places, but he told me the gas was on and he had thrown
a match. I ran down to the lab and I saw how the windows had
shattered (Indoor windows, windows outside were shatterproof) and
the walls were charred and burnt. The only fire there, was shooting
from the gas nozzles. Three burnt dismembered monsters inside.
I stopped in at the metalwork room and picked up a nail gun (a practical
nail gun, for construction) a saw, two table saw blades a hammer and a
box of nails. Suddenly I knew how to make an excellent trap,
I started to work on it. The idea was simple, a wire is tripped,
and a metal blade comes down spinning so fast you can’t even see it move
it took about an hour, but the clock still said 2:50.
I left the trap in front of the door to the other science
lab. Then I checked my other trap, Another Andrew and Jon were
laying there dead. Poor guys, I reset the trap and put their carcasses
in the smashed science lab. I found Tiffany in my homeroom, she looked
gentle and asleep. She was dead though. She died in her sleep
because of a deadly toxin released by the beast in front of me. I
looked like a panda crossed with a spider. Eight spindly legs covered
in black hair, a white head with a snout that had a short tube sticking
out of it. I backed off, I couldn’t risk fighting it. I locked the
door from the outside of the room so it couldn’t leave. I heard
a roaring noise and ran down the hall, A tall gray, monster with
rubbery skin had fallen into my trap. A purple jelly oozed out of it’s
wounds. I reset the trap and made my way back to the gym, dead
bodies everywhere. When I got there I saw about half of the
original survivors there. Everyone else was dead. I was
relieved to see that the girl I had a crush on was still alive. In
all there were Jesse, Dallas, Thomas, Kurt, Carrie, Steve, Daniel,
Jas, Ashley, Jamie, Jackie, Corey, Kelly, Kristin, Brent, Matt, Franchesca,
Chad, Raj, Jack, Danny, and me. I took a look around
the school and came upon a faint mist. “ It’s twenty three to six
for you.” the mist told me as I ran back to the gym. “Only
six of them left,” I shouted.
“Kristin is gone, Andrew” Dallas told me. My face fell.
Kristin was one of my best friends.
“Well you know what. When someone you care about gets hurt,”
I started, “You don’t let it get you down, you go kiss some monstrous
*** and bring your friend back” I screamed. Suddenly a huge monster
burst into the room and wiped out half of the survivors there and then.
I picked up the nail gun and fired. I kept reloading and shooting, reloading
and shooting. The monster roared and chased after me,
I ran to the science room and jumped over the trip wire. The monster
landed on it and was instantly hacked up. I sighed and
headed back to the gym. Only Jessie, Dallas, Thomas, Kurt, Carrie,Jackie,
Brent, and Franchesca, Melanie, and I were left.
We were caught. Jessie was struggling in the arms of the
berserkering, and I was wrapped in the tentacles of the insanity creature.
I felt the pricks of the tentacles bite in to me and felt the fluid of
insanity (which the fog called Myloroc) flow into me. I saw Jesse’s
eyes bulge as he was transformed into a berserker. I smiled at him
as he roared in anger. I laughed psychotically as he ripped
the arms off the berserkering and killed it. I was still laughing
as he tried to kill me. I dodged him as he leapt and just kept laughing.
I ran into the gym. I looked at the scared helpless looks
on the kids faces and laughed. It was all so funny. Then I
looked at Melanie and my smile died. Suddenly my mostly rational
mind snapped back. I grabbed Jesse by the shoulders and gently said,
“Calm down Jesse. Calm down.” His eyes bugged out and a little
while later he was back to normal. I looked around and saw a thin
blue mist sweep into the room. The sleep monster had escaped from
my home room. A couple people fell asleep, dead. I saw Melanie’s
eyes close. “MELANIE!” I cried!
“We gotta leave!” shouted Dallas. The survivors ran
off but I stayed.
Melanie looked up at me. “Fight harder.... and bring me back”
then she fell still and I ran from the room.
Jessie, Dallas, Thomas, Kurt, Carrie, Franchesca, and I were left
to face four monsters. A monster burst towards
us and managed to turn Kurt and Carrie to stone before it fell upon my
ruler trap. Later another one came in and sprayed Franchesca.
She started to turn blue. Jesse cried out, ran to Franchesca, and
embraced her.
Soon she was ice and Jesse had fire in his eyes he grabbed the monster
and turned to us, not recognizing anything but his thirst for blood.
When he started to run towards us, one of the last monsters grabbed him
and killed him gruesomely. The monster grabbed Thomas, but
failed to see the table saw blade in Thomas’ hand, and a couple minutes
later both were dead. The monster with the blade in it’s head and
Thomas with a broken neck.
Two to one. Not very good odds. Dallas and I
faced the insanity creature with the old science room between us. I started
to smile. A strange laugh formed in my throat and burst from my lips.
I walked forward and stepped on something, a wire of some sort. I
kept walking forward until the blade came buzzing down from my trap and
sliced my legs off. I saw, in hazy vision, Dallas pick up a pair
of scissors and throw them at the creature. The scissors stuck in
the creature gasp in pain, and collapse. I closed my eyes and died,
smiling.
I woke up as the bell went. Where was I? I was in
socials. The memories came flying back to me. The fight.
Was it a dream? Then I looked at Melanie, and saw a wonderful
look in her eye.
“You brought me back” she said and smiled. I smiled back and
I knew that I loved her even more.
That night the only dream I remember was me standing in a thick
blue fog. You won. This time, but I’ll be back.
Two days later, None of the grade tens showed up to school.
They were gone the whole week. Some say it was a secret mass murder,
and I guess it was. The teachers don’t know exactly what happened.
But I do.
