S B #1 Sample a mode of travel different..... We rode a train to Savannah,
and we took a River Boat cruise, and a buggy ride. We took pictures as we
went.
S B #2 We planned a week trip to Savannah, estimated costs, using a parent to
help with the trip arrangements.
S B # 4 We made prep lists of what to take, and talked about what to make
sure of before leaving home.
S B #7 We talked about Wider Op's booklet and handed out applications.
TECH #4 We read maps , trains, city, and Eastern US, to get us to Savannah.
S P # 6 - We made up, we produced ceramic pins to give the giftshop, with our names, Troop 2002, as a service project. We also had a Scout's Own in the Garden, and presented the IPP's.
Career E # 4 We broke into pairs and wrote fantasy vacations and presented them to the group. We had a lot of fun with this.

**************************************************************************
We traveled to England to an International Scout camp that was held in Sherwood Forest.
Skill Builders:
SB #1: We traveled by plane to England, during the time we spent in England we traveled from place to place by a minibus, and while in London we rode the subway. We took a lot of pictures and shared them when we returned.
SB #3: Contacted a travel agency to acquire information about travel to England, we also went through a travel agent to acquire our airline tickets. We talked to some people who have traveled to England, one lady's husband had been originally from England.
SB #4: We made a packing list for our luggage, learned how to pack more effectively (found that if you roll your clothes up, you can get more in and the clothes are less wrinkled later). Made a check list of things to take care of before leaving home, like having the mail stopped, paying bills ahead.
Technology
T #4: While traveling in London we learned how to read the subway maps and street maps of London. We also did a hike where we didn't know where we were but the English scouts had a landmark to identify by, then using a map we found our way back to the scoutmaster's house.
T #5: The mechanisms that we found in place in the airports to ensure safety included: x-ray, customs, and metal detectors.
Service Projects:
SP #5: Showed the video of our England trip to Sherwood 98 and other places to all the troops in the service unit and parents at our Thinking Day Event. Some of the girls were from underpriviledged families.
Career Explorations:
CE #3: Emailed leaders in other countries our leader knows) to find out about educational requirements, working conditions, and salaries.
