I see you drifting
Far away from me.
You want to live
Free from me,
But you bound
Yourself up in chains.
You blame
Your captivity
On me,
Unable to escape
From your own
Screaming heart,
Telling you to return—
Only to break free—
To live your life
Without
Having to hide
Behind a brick wall
That everyone
Can see through.
Everyone,
But me.
I never saw
Through
Before,
But it’s
Opacity is weakening.
You are giving in.
Now,
Since I see your lies,
I can see through
Your hastily made
Brick wall.
You made it
So fast—
To hide…
From me.
But the wall is
Aging.
Time, taking it’s toll,
Causes it to crumble.
You try to build it
Back up,
But the rest just
Collapses.
With nothing left
Of your boundary
Between
You
And
Me,
You panic—
Hiding in the mess you have
made.
You hide in
The derbies
Of your life,
Wondering how it came
To this—
Blaming me for starting it,
And yourself for never
Breaking the chains.
I bend down and
Help you
Out of the
Rubble, helping to re-build
Your life,
Even though you never did
for me.
