<Chapter Three>

        <I would say morph, Nathstap, but you don’t have any morphs, do you?> the pediatrician jabbered.
        <No.  There was never any need to morph before,> Nathstap answered and then changed her glance.  She looked at me.  <Serina, maybe we could morph each other so we each have a morph, and for the pleasure of acting as the other!>
        The pediatrician knew we were speaking to one another in private thought speak, and looked at us both with one of her stalk eyes.
        <Yes, let’s do that.>
        <Girls, have you decided what to do?>
        <Yes,> Nathstap cut her short.  <We will both acquire each other, and I will morph Serina, and back to myself to heal my ankle.  We will also do it for the pleasure of acting as the other.>
        <Why did we even have to visit the pediatrician anyway, Nathstap?  We could have morphed each other, anyway.>
        <Because you thought it might be a good idea.>
        <It does not matter, now.>
        <I’ll acquire you, first, Serina.>  Nathstap reached out her hand, and touched my shoulder.
        <Now, just concentrate on Serina, Nathstap, and her DNA will flow through your fingers into your body.>
        As Nathstap concentrated, I felt myself getting tired, as if I was in a trance.  I felt Nathstap remove her hand from my shoulder.  In a matter of seconds, I was alert, once more.
        <Alright.  I will acquire you, now.>  I placed my right hand on her left shoulder.  I knew that by absorbing her DNA, her injured ankle would not affect the morph.  As I started to concentrate on Nathstap, she fell into a trance, as I did.  I broke contact with her, and she awoke from her trance after me.
        <Ok, Serina.  I’ll morph now.>
        As I watched Nathstap morph, I saw my features start to blend into hers.  She did not grow much—maybe an inch at most.
        <Hello, Serina!> Nathstap giggled.
        <Hello, Serina.>  I answered, also laughing.  <OK, morph back to yourself, Nathstap.  We need to leave.>
        She drooped her head.  <Alright,> she said with a sigh.
        <Girls, there is no need to pay me, if you are worrying about that.  I only gave you an idea as to how to heal your ankle.  I did not, though.  Do not worry about repaying me.>
        <Thank-you, Doctor,> Nathstap and I said in unison.
Nathstap was already herself again.  She was a natural morpher.  I had never morphed before, so I was not sure of my speed.
        <Oh, and Doctor,> I started.  <Why is it we were given the power to morph, yet, did not have any morphs until now?>
        <Serina, that was a decision made by your parents.  Yours, too, Nathstap.  If I am right, they probably gave you the power to morph if it is needed, but gave you no morphs.  Arisths in training are usually given the Kafit bird for morphing.  They must acquire the rest of their morphs from there.
        <We shall go now, Doctor.  Thank you once again for your advice in healing Nathstap’s ankle.> I said sincerely to the pediatrician.
        <Not at all a problem Serina.  Go have some fun, now.>
        Nathstap and I exited the pediatrician’s office.  <Where would you like to go, Nathstap?  Home or roam the city?  I do not have to be home by a particular time.  I have a scoop to go home to, but no one is awaiting me there.  Personally, I would like to roam the city.  Maybe swing by my dad’s office…>
        <Sure.  Lets head off to your dad’s office.  Any particular reason you want to visit?>
        <No, not really.>
        <How are we going to gain access to the building?  We can not just walk right in, can we?>
        <Actually, there is a way we can just walk right in.  I could tell the guard that I needed a paper that my dad left on his office desk, and we could both easily gain access.  I also want to tap into the computer system to see if a worker did know that the Visser was sneaking through our security.>
Nathstap and I had been slowly walking away from the pediatrician’s office.  <How many blocks are we away from his office, Serina?>
        <Not many, Nathstap.  Look.  You can see the top of the dome just above those next buildings.>  I pointed my finger in a vague direction of where I meant.
<Alright, let’s go.> Nathstap announced with a nod of her head as we both took off at a gallop towards the dome in the distance.
        We raced around the corner of the block, and there loomed the dome building of my father’s office.  The light from the sun made a shadow linger at my feet.  Nathstap and I both stopped and stared into the shadow.  As we suspected, there was a guard at the door.  <Ready, Nathstap?  Just let me talk, OK?  I will get us inside.  Walk stiffly with your back straight, and maybe we could pass for corporate workers.>  I had to raise my voice at the last part, because a pod ship took off.  You could still see the glow of the flame as the ship disappeared into the distance.
        We started walking towards the entrance.  <Security!  May I ask why you request authorization into this building?>
        <My father, Sciltan-Ammun-Urango, left a very important paper on his desk and he sent us to retrieve it.>  The guard gave me a strange look, and moved to a side.  I nodded my head to say thank you.
        <We are in…> I whispered
