Lagoon Tower, Waikiki (Oahu, Hawaii)
A few days before the eclipse, sunsets were variable. Not complete clear at horizon. Looking for a good observation place. Observed the partial eclipse together with Fred Espenak and Pat Totten from the 23rd floor of the Lagoon Tower in the Hilton Village at Waikiki, Oahu Hawaii. Fred arranged with the hotel manager. Laura noticed with the eclipse shades a gap in the sun. It was still about 3 minutes before calculated contact. It meant that the coordinates of the position were wrongly from the atlas. The eclipse started. A wonderful clear sky. Only a few minutes before sunset, the clouds disturbed the eclipses sun. We could see the last peak disappearing in the clouds at the horizon. No green flash seen. Laura, Joanne and Patrick
