Tandjung Kodok, Java Indonesia

General: Time 04h43m, Alt. 58 degrees, path 196 km, Saros 127, duration 05m08s (Max 05m11s)

Organisation of trip by Johan Gijsenbergs, Kris Delcourte and PP. Joined as well Giuseppe Canonaco, Christian Steyaert and Vital Nuyens.

Travelled around in Mitsubishi van with driver and "guide". Stayed here and there with Belgian locals.

Observation from Tandjung Kodok, 30 km from Tuban on Java.

The eclipse would start at 11h36m local time. Many observers arrived on the spot. Including the late Joseph Ruland, Patrick Moore, the late Karyl Fabrin, etc.

The weather was fantastic. The Americans had the countdown at their station.

Small typhoon blew kind of tent away the day before. Wind was 120 km/h and rain of 47 mm. We did not notice the earthquake, which we saw on tele in the evening.

The night before, the sky cleared. The observation place was a mud place though.

Preparations for an eclipse was with calculations from Fred Espenak and meteo data of KMI.

Used besides the 70 mm Lichtenknecker Optics refractor, also the Canon camera and a 125 mm camera for the horizon. A thermometer for registration as well.
