Welcome to the parish website of St Botolph's and St James the Greater. These two churches support the town of Shepshed and the surrounding area, including Oaks in Charnwood, a hamlet halfway between Shepshed and Coalville. St Botolph’s is a growing Christian congregation in the heart of the community.We are an Anglo-Catholic church who believe in being a church of the people for the people. St James the Greater is a beautiful church set in equally beautiful surroundings. Built by the Victorians to serve the farming community we now stand in splendid isolation surrounded by farm land and forest. Being a more traditional atmosphere, it seems appropriate to continue the tradition of being an evangelical church with a strong emphasis on the importance of the word as upheld by the Book of Common Prayer, on which many of the services are based.
