The Bedford River Festival is the weekend on which Bedford celebrates the River Great Ouse. This is the wonderful river, which runs through Bedford Town Centre. The River Ouse, as it passes through Bedford, does not possess quite the size and majesty of the river Thames, as it passes through London. However, it is a very attractive river nevertheless. You can see this for yourself by examining some of the photographs, which are displayed below.
The Bedford River Festival is a bi-annual affair. That is: it takes place every other year. The date of the river festival is normally the middle weekend in July. The last Bedford River Festival took place on 15th and 16th July 2006. The next Bedford River Festival should take place in the middle of July 2008.

The two photographs below show the Ghost train and the dodgems. This is just a very small section of the xxx on offer. The whole of Russel Park was taken up with a plethora of joy rides and fairground attractions, including a huge Ferris Wheel.
